Plastic Fantastic: A Hands-On Recycling Workshop
You're invited to take part in an interactive input session for Plastic Fantastic: A Hands-On Recycling Workshop that is aligned with BC's Applied Design, Skills and Technologies (ADST) curriculum. Learn about small-scale recycling, try it out, and help us shape the experience for BC's K-10 students.
This 3-hour event includes education about small-scale recycling, and experience transforming plastic waste into something new. It takes place at the new Maker Station in downtown Prince George (990 1st Ave). We'll be sharing about the circular economy, design-thinking, and introducing you to small-scale recycling including shredding and injection molding. You'll get to try your hand at transforming plastic waste into something new.
A few things to know:
- Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
- Parking is available (in the alcove at the Maker Station, or at the west end of the building).
- Carpool from UNBC may be possible - get in touch.
- We'll be asking your input and feedback on the workshop - to help us improve before we take this program out to students later this year.
- No prep required - bring yourself and a curiousity mindset.
- If you'd like, bring plastic waste you want to transform into something new.
